Wednesday, November 18th, 2009This is Kathryn - wearing an Oxfam fringed dress, with sewn-in necklace, teamed with a pair of Topshop jeans. Kathryn was captured during my last trip to Manchester for the Grazia Style Hunter Awards and I am proud to announce that she has the winning look for Manchester. Congratulations Kathryn!
I’m back in Manchester on Friday 27th November for Esquire magazine, where I’ll be shooting for their ‘Working Wardrobe’ section. So I’m on the lookout for smart/casual guys who dress for work with a twist and a lot of personal style (you know who you are!). Spread the word and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you catch me wandering the streets. I’ll be in the Northern Quarter from noon to 5pm… Look forward to meeting you.
Play, Miss Tee, For Me…
Friday, November 13th, 2009I was ambling towards the City when I decided this location would make a great place to take some photos… if (and it was a BIG if)… the right person came along. At that moment - as if by magic - Hanna walked into my life and was gracious enough to let me take some shots of her. Sometimes when I take photos of people it’s just about capturing the vibe, so I thought it would be cool for Hanna to let the cardigan hang loose in a kind of chilled, slinky way. Hanna definitely rocks that Zara Tee with a beautiful grace and such poise - thank you so much Hanna!

Monday, October 26th, 2009Akimi and Neil are partners in every sense of the word, they are both designers and run ARN Mercantile men’s and women’s clothing. When I saw Akimi and Neil I instantly knew they were a couple. I love the intimacy of this shot and the closeness it reflects. Neil looks like he is channelling the Alan Ginsberg beat look and he could have almost of stepped off the streets of San Francisco or New York circa 1959 - rather than London 2009. While Akimi’s look has more of a rustic country appeal. Both seemed very happy.
Hat Trick
Monday, August 31st, 2009A couple of weeks ago I mentioned a shop in Edinburgh that customises vintage clothes and wondered if it was a trend. Then I came upon Artists Decio and Laura, who met in London and had decided to make and customise both male and female hats. Decio and Laura quickly realised that vintage garments which generally complement their hats could be customised, leading them to stretch their ideas even further, working with and recycling just about anything, from bottles to accessories and shoes. Calling their Camden based company Hats by the Way Their main focus is to create unique timeless and theatrical pieces.

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009Art student Jessica was off for a meal with her folks when I ran into her near Tottenham Court Road. She is wearing lace leggins from Topshop, the shirt she found at a festival, and her leather jacket came from Camden Market. I love the muted tones in this composition which I snapped in the fading evening light.
