London - Punky Anime

London – Punky Anime

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

I spotted freelance stylist Benny in Stoke Newington, she is originally from Japan and Benny says she bought all her clothes in Tokyo. I was tickled pink by her look, especially the frilly lace leggins – or are they knickers? I love Bennys edgy, quirky, fun expression of individualism.

I liked her assertive style, the layers and way the sweater cascades around […]

Dark Out Of Light

Dark Out Of Light

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Thomas is in a band imaginatively named Scum! He says the music is dark and experimental. He is wearing “70′s dancer shoes”, a Spanish hat with pinstripe trousers and 1950′s trench coat. I thought he had a clean, graceful look, which contrasted well with the grungy background of this East London street on a gloomy […]

The Passion Of Graham

The Passion Of Graham

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Graham is a painter from California. He is wearing a tailor-made mustard duffle coat which he recently bought in Devon, South West England and a navy-blue knitted hat. I met him in Shoreditch, London; he was on a pilgrimage to meet friends to witness the inauguration of President Obama.
