London – Laced Tee

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Rosa says’ her favourite fashion style era is 80s-”Like A Virgin“-Madonna. I thought Rosa was rocking a ‘New-Pretty’ look with her vintage lace dress, white tee, Levis jacket and a pair of Hush Puppies, and the faux-fur stole.

My brother and sister used to love Hush Puppies when they were younger. Sorry Bro and sis, had to ‘out you’ on that one!

London – Breath Of Fresh Air

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Joanna along with her mother Helen is the co-owner of the ultra-cool London women’s Boutique Oxygen. With it’s finely edited pieces and collections Oxygen has managed to establish it’s-self in less than a year – March 2010 will be their first anniversary.

I myself won a wonderful Eugenia Kim hat at an Oxygen party raffle in the summer. As it was a woman’s hat I decided that I would wait Zen-like, until a suitable candidate for the hat came along. That lucky lady is now walking around Manchester attracting looks of envy – no doubt. Oxygen also doubles as an art gallery showing cutting-edge fashion related art and photography.  Joanna is wearing Bottega Veneta shoes, LMA leggings, Opening Ceremony jumper, Gryphon blazer and accessorized with a Zara belt.

“My favourite trend is the sixties look – especially the mini dress. I love the Twiggy style”.

“My least  favourite trend is when people wear too much vintage – the look is getting a bit old”.  (Sic)

London – The Big Thaw

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

The big thaw is coming and the weather man says it will be positively “spring-like” by Sunday. Mind you, they did get the winter forecast wrong all together this season. Well I thought Lisa nicely illustrated this ‘in-between state’, with her charity-shop-find cardi, River Island hooded scarf, a pair of Van’s, and Urban Outfitters leggings. I also love the stark tree silhouette on Lisa’s silk-screen printed sweater-bought in Camden Market, and the dangling bobbles.

Lisa says her favourite look is Punky Boho, or “Po-Ho” as she amusingly referred to it.

Lisa’s least favourite look is zipped-up hooded fleeces, worn by older women who should know better.

London – My Fair Lady

It was a total coincidence that prop-maker for music video’s, Lucy, stood with her name in the background. Lucy is wearing a delightful eclectic mix, with ‘straight-up appeal’. Lucy’s shoes are from Office, long socks American Apparel, 40′s vintage dress, coat Topshop, vintage bag and American Apparel scarf.

HR administrator Slava is wearing a leather coat by Salvatore Ferragamo with trim fur. Slava’s skirt and tights are by Next, the boots are Cucio and her bag is CC Rossi.

Slava says her “favourite trend for summer is pink and white, for winter it’s greens and browns, with lots of leather and fur, – sorry Green Peace!”

“My least  favourite trend is plastic and synthetic club style clothes. I don’t like cheap looking clothes. It’s not in terms of price, it’s just how they look”.

London – Urban Turban

I haven’t seen heals like these on a man since the 1970′s. I love the pale blue of the turban against the trench.

Swag

Fashion designers Manjit and Deepak really caught my eye with their style. Manjit, (on the left) was wearing a vintage Mackee blazer, roll neck Gap sweater, Doghouse tee shirt, cardigan, Next, trousers, Topman, Shoes, Sergio Rossi. Deepak is with the fabulous Burberry man bag, the jacket by ‘Self, the shoes are vintage and Trousers by Topman. Deepak was also wearing an Issey Miyake shirt, underneath the coat.
