Lucky Charm

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

I get really excited as the evenings get longer and we head towards the longest day of the year in June – the light can be so magical. I love this lace top worn with the denim skirt and navy jacket. This girl looks like shes going places.

London – Cool Vernacular

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Here is Chloe, she’s shopping with a girlfriend in Camden. Simple and coordinated and right on the button with current trends, I love that oversize clutch bag with the faux crocodilian from ASOS and that cute boyfriend cut jacket from Dorothy Perkins – borrowed from her friend. I think there is a fine line between ‘plain’ and a classic simplicity, what do you think?

London – May Flower

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I caught up with Ellen as she was rushing to make her appointment at a large magazine publishing house in the Westend . Even though she was running late, Ellen graciously gave up her time for a couple of minutes, offering me a brief window to capture her ‘look’. The vintage dress she wears was bought in a market in Milan for a couple of pounds, her boots are from Vagabond, with a Zara top and ‘Stray Boys’ cardigan. Ellens wonderful scarf is from H&M.

London – The Colour Purple

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

I was on the hunt for shades of the colour lilac when I suddenly came upon this vision in cerise… and lilac! Elizabeth is a TV studio manager working in Soho and I especially loved the way she wore the different tones of mauves and purples – with those accents of blue paint splashes on her pashmina.

London – Nostalgia

Monday, May 18th, 2009

I love the movies of the late Russian film director Andre Tarkovsky – Nostalgia and Mirror, being my favourites. There is something nostalgic about Charlottes look that reminds me of a Tarkovsky heroine, in her floaty pink Siren dress from Topshop and her sweater from New York.

Don’t Look Back

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Amanda was late for work when I saw her dashing up the road – I probably didn’t help her much by taking a few shots, but I liked her eye catching combo of Topshop shorts and tights, with her Primark jacket and gorgeous chunky bag.

Bonjour

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Charles is an artist living in London, he is French and likes to dress, n’est-ce pas?

London – Notting Hill

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Fashion journalist Helena – whom I met in Notting Hill -  is someone who really can wear high-street stylishly and with a touch of class. She was wearing a Primark dress with a blazer from Zara, bag by Cupcake (American) and shoes from a boutique in London.

Law Of Attraction

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Friday night found me in the company of investigative music journalist Tim Cooper and maverick music celebrity PR Phill Savidge. We were hot on the trail of a ‘Nu Disco’ club called Reverse-Sunrise. ‘Sunrise’ is the brainchild of club DJ, Guy Williams who recruited cutting edge DJ’s and Serge Santiago. Greg Wilson and Dan Beaumont.

Reverse is ‘warehouse in the sky’ held on the 31st floor of the Centre Point Building, which means you get an amazing 360 degree view of London and the promise of watching the sunrise over the city  – if the weather is good. On the night we went it was cloudy and rained, so no chance of watching the sunrise. Still I mustn’t grumble I was on the 30th floor of Centre Point. in the company of  rising Nu Disco Queen Helena Jessie who is destined for the top- excuse the pun – with her new album ‘The Law Of Attraction’ Helena manages to combine Latin and jazz and 50s lounge and 70s grooves and make all her own.
