High Street Angel

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Everything Hayley was wearing was from Primark, when I spotted her in South West London. She struck me as a true High Street angel, not too bothered by labels. It was such a simple, uncomplicated look – the faux leather jacket, teeshirt and tartan pants.

Socks Appeal

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Red trainers and Argyle socks with a faux leopard skin fur rushing pass me on the Kings Road. There was a certain eye-catching quality about this woman’s individual look which impelled me to take this snap.

A Splash Of Colour

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

A rainy afternoon in London, West 8 was suddenly brightened by this woman’s vibrant combination of flame red coat and lime green umbrella and scarf.  The black bag and darkened doorway (where she sheltered whilst on her phone) set against the light, wintery background, further increased the impact of this scene for me.

South Ken Party Frock

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Felicity had just come from the V&A Museum in South Kensington. She is wearing a “purple fluffy jumper” with a sexy white mesh tutu skirt and black patterned fishnet tights. I like this picture because the model, the pose and the setting have a sort of 1970′s Punk aesthetic.

Jermyn Street Gent

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Alexander had been shopping in Jermyn Street, before going back to college in America. I was struck by his simple yet old-fashioned, slightly ruffled old money look. The pocket square, the cardigan and gloves are so quintessentially ‘English Gent’.

City Slicker

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Leanne works in recruitment and was on the way to a very important meeting in the City when I spotted her through the lunchtime crowd. I particularly loved the structure of her black coat by Zara against the blonde stone background. Her handbag is by Karen Millen, shoes and skirt from TopShop, and tights by Calvin Klein.

Lady In Red

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Jessica is a bespoke jewellery designer – she is wearing one of her pieces around her neck, a half eaten apple. I met her coming from the Gherkin building in Corporate area in the City, where she had been taking part in ‘Jewellery Week’. She is inspired by 1930′s style. Her jacket is hand-tailored, the hat made of felt and she is wearing a Kate Moss dress. Her boots are Reiss and the tights are by Woolford – which a friend bought for her in New York.

Dark Out Of Light

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Thomas is in a band imaginatively named Scum! He says the music is dark and experimental. He is wearing “70′s dancer shoes”, a Spanish hat with pinstripe trousers and 1950′s trench coat. I thought he had a clean, graceful look, which contrasted well with the grungy background of this East London street on a gloomy afternoon.

Off To See The Wizard…

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Lucy works for Agent Provocateur. She really enjoys mixing colours together and is wearing a Zara mac with a Vivian Westwood bag and belt. She loves her stripey tights, which are by Jonathan Aston and reminded her of the witch from the Wizard of Oz.

The Passion Of Graham

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Graham is a painter from California. He is wearing a tailor-made mustard duffle coat which he recently bought in Devon, South West England and a navy-blue knitted hat. I met him in Shoreditch, London; he was on a pilgrimage to meet friends to witness the inauguration of President Obama.
